Profile of the Lazears

Tom Lazear, the Chairman of Archway Systems, programmed his first CAD project in 1959 at Fluor Corporation. In 1980 he started the company which eventually became the Versacad Corporation.  The Versacad Corporation developed the first widely marketed CAD software programs to the PC and Apple business and educational markets in the early 1980s, including T-Square, CADapple, OmniDraft, MarsCAD and VersaCAD.  Tom Lazear has a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of California at Berkeley, a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from UCLA and an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Business.  With his many years in the CADD development market, he is frequently requested to be a guest speaker at CADD events.

Mike Lazear, the CEO of Archway Systems, is the original developer of VersaCAD for the PC.  Highly skilled in the art of programming, he is in much demand as a contract programmer.  Mike Lazear is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
