MicroStation V8 for AutoCAD Users by Jeanne Aarhus

Intended for AutoCAD users that want to learn MicroStation. Covers all the 2D commands compared to AutoCAD. Written by experienced AutoCAD instructor. Detailed illustrations and step-by-step exercises guide users through common CAD processes.

Learning MicroStation VBA by Jerry Winters

In-depth tour of one of MicroStations's most powerful customization abilites. Starts with a foundation in VBA basics and then shows how to apply theose fundamentals to real-world situations. Covers editing, modules, visual interface, and MicroStation object model through advanced topics like the Windows API, interacting with other applications, and Visual Basic, among others. An accompanying CD includes all source code referenced. The CD includes procedures and addenda to the book.

Rendering with MicroStation by Jerry Flynn

A must have book for anyone involved with 3D design. Through illustrations and hands-on exercises, this book covers every aspect of rendering in detail-including cameras, materials, lighting, environment maps, and rendering settings. Learn to apply photorealistic effects. Create materials. Also, includes tips for generating quality still images, network rendering, panoramas, and 3D content in pdf files.

MicroStation Quickstart by Tom Lazear

This book provides extensive discussion and lessons on MicroStation 2D drawing and solid modeling (3D) for mechanical engineers and architects.  It also includes a suggested schedule for teaching an 18-week class.  It is ideal for professionals, teachers and students who want to gain the skills and tools to implement MicroStation in their own environment quickly.  Mr. Lazear uses this book for his MicroStation Quickstart two-day class.  (Click here for more detail.) Teach Yourself MicroStation/J by Ranjit Sahai (©1999)

Learn 2D drawing and 3D modeling in Modeler, TriForma and Geographics.  Learn how to customize MicroStation, translate drawings and program MicroStation.  This covers many of MicroStation/J's strengths in detail.  Included is a free CD-ROM with exercise files and more. Mr. Sahai is a vice president at Alpha Corporation, an engineering and technology consulting firm.  Mr. Sahai has written dozens of articles for MicroStation Manager magazine as well as training others in various aspects of MicroStation.
